Hance Files for Re-election

Today, Earl “Buddy” Hance filed as an at large candidate for re-election to Calvert County Board of County Commissioners. In his second term, Buddy will continue to advocate for transparency and accountability in county government.

In his first term, Buddy worked to balance spending and growth. Taxes have remained flat with a slight decrease in real property taxes during his term. Full funding was provided to support education and public safety with the addition of paid EMS, at the request of volunteers who needed additional support to meet the citizens’ needs.

Looking ahead, Buddy will continue to take a balanced approach with a focus on core priorities:

  • Maintaining the current tax base and keeping taxes flat

  • Managing growth with deliberate oversight of the Town Center Master Plan process

  • Encouraging job growth with support for local businesses and nonprofits

  • Supporting the county’s education system with an efficient and effective budget

  • Supporting critical emergency and public safety services to meet the county’s needs

  • Working towards the goal to preserve 40,000 acres in Calvert County

To kick off the campaign, Buddy will host a Bull & Oyster Roast on April 9 at 2pm at the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department. Tickets are $50 per person and kids are free. Purchase tickets here.
